This weekend was another weekend of seeing God's blessings. On Thursday, we connected with a Ugandan family that is living here in Grand Rapids for a little while. We decided we would get together on Friday evening. They came over at around 6. We had dinner together and we visited til 11 pm. We were so blessed by this visit. We learned more about the Ugandan history and a lot about Ugandan culture. We had experienced so many of these things when we were in Uganda and it was fun to here their perspective on some of these things we experienced. We were so excited because the father was from one of the areas we visited in May. It was where the coffee fields were. He could talk about places and we knew where he was talking about. Another great thing about the night was the fact that they have kids. They had a fifteen year old, ten year old and a four year old, all of which were boys. Ashley had so much fun with the four year old and Drew and Troy were having a great time with the ten year old. It was so great for our kids to interact with Ugandans. This family will be going back to Uganda in July and we look forward to continuing the relationship here and when we are in Uganda. The whole evening was a rich blessing!
Tonight, was another great evening. We met with some friends that we haven't been able to meet with in a while. We presented our vision for ministry in Uganda and it was so fun to share again what we will be doing in Soroti and beyond. It is always exciting to share how God is working among our team members right now and how we will fit into that when we are there. The night was a great encouragement to us.
We also had a great time in the morning. The snow is so beautiful and we took our kids to the school to go sledding! We want to really enjoy the snow this year so we can remember the cold when we are in Africa sweating. It was a great day to sled, the sun was shining and the trees were covered with glistening snow. Our God is a wonderful artist.
When we got home from sledding we had the opportunity to babysit for a friends 7 month old baby! She took naps in our arms and was so smily and happy. It was so fun and she was such a joy to take care of!
Many other things have made this weekend wonderful, but I will stop with just these things. We look forward to tomorrow, ready to worship the Master Artist!
