So as I reflect about going stateside, I keep thinking of how it will be different than here. I am nervous about so many things, but I am also excited about so many things.
Today as I was making lunch, I was reminded how easy it will be stateside to prepare food! One of our favorite meals here is pizza tortillas. If we were stateside we would go to the store and buy tortillas, pepperoni, sauce, and cheese. I forgot oil.
BUT here,
- I need to make sure tortillas are made and that they haven't gone bad because they have no preservatives.
- we have to thaw out the pepperoni and then cut it into smaller pieces so we don't use to much, and this is only if we have pepperoni from the states.
- I also have to have sauce made. (I usually try to make tomato sauce every other week).
- We then have to thaw some mozzarella cheese and then grate some. This also only possible if we have not run out of it from our last trip to Kampala!
Right now, this didn't seem like a big deal, but when I compare it to what it would be like stateside to make this same meal, I think, WOW! that was a lot of work!
I also think, maybe if I was stateside, I would just forgo all this work and I would just order a Little Ceasar's Pizza! It just might be faster and cheaper.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26

Kate's Court date Prayer Request
WE have not updated recently because we don't even know what to tell people! Hopefully you have all continued praying blindly as we have been. It is the same as always, we don't know what is going on! We are still supposed to have our court date on July 2nd, but the judge has been reappointed to a new location and will most likely not see any new cases. Our lawyer has been a lawyer for 41 years and the courts and hopefully our judge have a lot of respect for him. He has agreed to go plead before the judge and convince him to see our case before he moves to his new assignment. The court systems also have a holiday in July, which means if we don't have our court date on July 2nd, we will most likely have to wait awhile.
As of now, we have plane tickets on hold for July 24th, but we can change them if need be.
Please pray for patience for us, wisdom for the lawyer, and a kind heart for the judge. We are ok with whatever happens, but we are just feeling a little unsettled.
We are anxious to reconnect with friends and family stateside, but know that we will connect when God says it is time.
We also pray for wisdom on how to continue with ministry. We feel like we have so many new things we want to start, but if we are leaving soon, it is hard to get started with some of these things.
