We are officially accepted by International Teams! We are thankful and ready to start on the whole process. We have moved into the Reformed Church Parsonage and working on our house to get it ready to sell. It seems like such a huge process, but we are taking it one day at a time.
In January we will be doing five weeks of training in Elgin, IL. Our children will be there two weeks with us and the other weeks we will have to just see what happens. We also have other trainings we have to do, but not exactly sure on all those dates yet. Our goal is to be going to Soroti in September of 2011. This year is going really fast and really slow. We are anxious to be there, but also don't want to start all the "see you laters".
This weekend is the Ride for Refuge! I have been looking at all our pictures and missing Soroti and the team that awaits us there. We would love to have people still sign up to ride. You just go to www.rideforrefuge.org and sign up under team "Uganda". Steve is the team captain. When we were in Uganda, we saw how the money raised at last years ride helped the people put some closure to the atrocities they have been through.object style="background-image:url(http://i4.ytimg.com/vi/SxeAadkSzxc/hqdefault.jpg)" width="480" height="295">
We are so thankful to have been able to experience this, but it is sad that these Ugandans had to go through this horrible time.
You may ride 5, 15, 30 or 60 miles. The ride starts at Byron Christian Middle School and you may start your ride anytime between 9 and 11:15.
Stay afterward for a lunch catered by Byron Family Restaurant. It isn't too late to sign up!
Join us on Saturday, October 2nd for a fun day and help us raise awareness and money for these precious Ugandan friends!
